ANTIMICROBIAL THERAPY OF SEPSIS AND SEPTIC SHOCK IN NEWBORN INFANTS

Abstract
Sepsis in newborns is one of the leading causes of neonatal mortality, with an incidence reaching 9.7 cases per 1,000 live births. Antibiotic resistance significantly limits therapeutic options, worsening the prognosis. Timely initiation of targeted antimicrobial therapy within the first 24 hours from the moment of diagnosis is critical for survival. However, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Sepsis-3 classification has not yet been widely implemented, which complicates early diagnosis and leads to delayed therapy. International studies emphasize the importance of dynamic monitoring and adaptation of therapy considering the pathogen and organ dysfunction.
