Journal History
The publication history of the Herald of the National Children's Medical Center dates back to 2022. The journal was established as a specialized scholarly platform for the publication and dissemination of research findings in pediatrics and related fields of child health.
The first issue of the journal for 2022 was published on September 8, 2022. Publication activities continued during the same year, and the journal archive contains three issues published in 2022.
At the initial stage, the electronic version of the journal was hosted on the tadqiqot.uz scholarly publishing platform. Subsequently, publication activities were continued on the journal’s own official electronic platform — hnchmc.uz, where the current digital archive is maintained and developed.
The journal is registered in the international ISSN system. Its official ISSN is 2181-3353. In the ISSN International Centre record, the journal is registered as an online publication, with its Uzbek, Russian, and English titles also recorded.
Since the beginning of its publication activity, the journal has developed as a specialized scholarly publication presenting research in child health. Its issues have included studies in pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric surgery, cardiology, neurology, anesthesiology and intensive care, infectious diseases, medical genetics, and other areas of pediatric medicine.
Beginning with the first issue of 2026, the journal entered a new stage in the development of its editorial and publishing policy. Requirements concerning manuscripts, scientific content, editorial assessment, independent peer review, research and publication ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, data transparency, the use of artificial intelligence, and post-publication procedures were revised.
The updated editorial framework is developed with reference to the internationally recognized principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), as well as the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, developed jointly by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME.
From 2026, the journal’s scientific positioning is consistently focused on Pediatrics, Perinatology and Child Health (ASJC 2735). Its editorial policy provides for the publication of research with a direct and scientifically justified relevance to the health of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
The current stage of the journal’s development is focused on strengthening the scientific quality of published research, improving editorial and peer review procedures, expanding international scientific collaboration, enhancing metadata quality and digital infrastructure, and increasing the accessibility and international visibility of child-health research.
