Abstract










In children with primary brain tumors, increased intracranial pressure (ICP) is often observed, requiring urgent decompression. Mannitol is used to reduce ICP; however, the timing of its administration (before or after craniotomy) remains a subject of debate. Ultrasound-based assessment of the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) is a non-invasive method for evaluating ICP and can be used to make an informed decision on the optimal timing for mannitol administration.
