A New Approach to the Treatment of Hard and Soft Palate Clefts and Oro-nasal Fistula

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

Congenital clefts of the upper lip, hard and soft palate, as well as post-palatoplasty oro-nasal fistulas, cause complex medical and psychological problems in children. These defects impair feeding, clear articulation, and fluent speech, leading to difficulties in social communication. Traditional speech therapy methods often fail to achieve satisfactory results. Therefore, it is essential to develop new and effective surgical approaches. This study focuses on improving oral cavity function and speech in children through the implementation of innovative techniques in clinical practice.
