COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO THE TREATMENT OF KERATOPATHIES IN PATIENTS WITH ADVANCED STAGE CONGENITAL GLAUCOMA

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

Congenital glaucoma is a rare but severe ophthalmic condition that often leads to visual disability in childhood. In the advanced stages of the disease, in addition to irreversible changes in the anterior chamber angle and optic nerve atrophy, secondary trophic complications such as glaucomatous keratopathy develop. These changes worsen the course of the primary disease and limit the potential for surgical treatment and rehabilitation. Despite the advancement of surgical techniques, in many cases, there is a lack of a systematic approach to the simultaneous correction of corneal disorders, highlighting the need for comprehensive therapy.
