CLINICAL CASE OF MENINGOENCEPHALITIS OF UNDETERMINED ETIOLOGY
FULL TEXT:
Abstract
Meningoencephalitis in children is a severe inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that requires urgent diagnosis and comprehensive therapy. This report presents a clinical case of meningoencephalitis of undetermined etiology in a 6-month-old child. The disease followed a subacute course, initially presenting with symptoms of a viral respiratory infection, which were later replaced by signs of CNS involvement. Despite the severe course and the development of cerebral edema, intensive therapy led to regression of symptoms without neurological deficit. However, considering the clinical history, long-term dynamic observation within a neurology service is required.
